eics & managing

The editor-in-chiefs and managing editors head the entire yearbook process. They are in charge of making sure everything goes smoothly and put the final seal of approval before sending the proofs in to Balfour. As the leaders of this student-led publication, they oversee the editors, who in turn, watch over their respective sections. Deadlines, quality work, and creativity are all elements of The Arcadian that the EICs and managing editors are responsible for.

Editor-in-Chief: Wesley Chen

Managing Editor: Addison Kwang

student life

The Student Life section covers what goes on in and out of school; from clubs day to after school activities to homecoming, staff members should know a variety of people around school and be able to reach out to members of all grades. In the yearbook, the student life section steers away from academics or sports and is geared toward how Apaches show their spirit.

Editor: Elizabeth Ko

Staff: Vic Pei, Chloe Hang & Maliyah Moore

ppl/academics

The “People” people cover people. In addition to arranging all of the individual student portraits, they create small mods, from polls to stories to quotes, as an accompaniment to the main feature: students. These mods cover anything from quirky hobbies to international travels. People staff also arrange the dozens of club photos. In Academics, we cover a wide range of subjects, offered at AHS. We also make spreads and stories about clubs like gov team, sci olympiad, history bowl, speech and debate, math team, and many more.

Editors: Krystal Tao & Hailie Cheng

Staff: Hannah Lee, Azure Chandler, Jason Yasuda & Angela Zhang

sports

Work hard, play hard. Sports section covers all the school’s athletic happenings, from volleyball to swim to track, getting personal interviews with our future Olympians. They keep up with both home and away games, CIF, Pacific League, and other statistics throughout the season. They are also in charge of the arrangement and identification of all sports team photos on campus, including frosh/soph, JV, and varsity.

Editor: Cindy Tao

Staff: Timothy Kim, Jacob Buan, Ji-In Kim, Mabel Mak, Nadia Han & Aviya Ramji

performing arts

The Performing Arts staff is involved with all things relating to the fine arts. Covering everything from Band to Chanteurs, these staff members are knowledgeable on how students show their creativity at school. It’s important for the Performing Arts staff to remind their assigned photographers to attend a variety of events (ie. theater productions, parades, etc) in order to have pictures for spreads.

Editor: Lyla Segovia

Staff: Sahana Sadasivam, Kalei Chang & Chloe Choy

ads & sales/PR

In Ads and sales, we sell and designs ads for seniors and senior parents, making sure to file all ads and contracts in an organized, efficient manner. Staff members must maintain an accurate log of all the information of purchasers. Ads staff should respond to emails within 24 hours. In public relations, we manage our social media platforms, website, and are in charge of designing posters and graphics. This role also plans all bonding events and banquets for the staff.

Editors: Zoe Shum & Erica Futaba
